We had exchanges in eagle river this week and helped a woman weed her
farm of peonies. She has lots of animals including yaks. She made a
comment that was very Alaskan: "if you hear a sound, it's not
necessarily a bear. But it's not necessarily a yak either. But don't
worry. We'll open the cabin windows so we can hear you scream." I
thought she was kidding until she muttered as she walked off "my
husband was chased off by a bear just two weeks ago. Hmm". Gotta love
being a missionary in the last frontier.
Miracle central happening here. Fasting? Works. We have been fasting
weekly for a new investigator and that has been happening.... And then
some. This transfer feels like it's been a week long, but that super
week is also like the most amazing week of my mission. Sister watts
and I have tried a lot of new ideas and have pushed to be more and
more diligent, and it works.
Also, sister galli doesn't have a brain. I was driving home and
talking my face off and literally missed 5 exits that I was supposed
to take to get home. When we got home I realized that I had left our
apartment key at the mission office, and that the office had closed In
that time. We rushed back and called an office couple who luckily was
still their. On the way we discovered that our key was taken by a
different office couple to eagle river. Luckily they had a spare in
the office, so we were able to pick it up. When we got back to our
apartment, we discovered it was the wrong key! So we had to go off
gallivanting again. Gotta love it.
Have a great week! Enjoy it :)
