i had the coolest experience this week. I was at a ward party and was rushing to and from to get our investigators some food and i was stopped by a nonmember lady who grabbed me and said : "look at you! your hair! you are so cute! i KNOW YOU!" and I instantly loved this woman with all my heart. I came and stood in line with her and she launched into stories about everything and anything (she's a true alaskan...she can TALK) and i just fully enjoyed it. She kept insisting that she knew me even though i assured her i had never before seen her. she is what she calls a "touchy feely" person and within minutes we were walking and talking arm in arm. she's mid to late 50's and SO SO funny. she is a total character. a veritable KOOK. but I just LOVED her. We sat down and i had the biggest desire to tell her about the gospel, to invite her, etc. but i couldn't get a word in. finally to continue the conversation i asked her "where are you from?" and all of a sudden i had her lifes story. I could feel the conversation morphing from everyday, to deep into this woman's soul. She started telling me of her late husband, who she misses dearly, and the more she talked the more touched i was. we both started crying and talking about a foot away from eachother's faces while the chaos of christmas party blurred to nothingness around us. as i looked into her green eyes i was drawn to them, and i KNEW, that we had been dear friends from another life. that i had been sent to find her. somehow we just had this crazy connection unlike almost anyone else i have ever met. I got her phone number and we have yet to be by, she is not interested as of now but i know she will be.I told her straight up that i knew we knew eachother. she wasn't sure. but said perhaps, but that she DID know me from somewhere. Then she said: there's just something about you. I DONT tell people what i just told you. " and i realized that she had told me some things i dont think she has ever told anyone else. I can't wait to go back to her. She is already a dear friend.

SIs Wright: today will be so much fun!!!! we are going to find bigfoot!!!! and sarah palin!!!
me: bigfoot eh? and palin? why do you want to find Palin?
Sis Wright: i LOVE PALIN!!!!!! Oh my gosh! I just NEED to find her and GIVE BACK because she has done so much for me!!! Oh my gosh. she. has. changed. my. LIFE!!!!
Me: ....................ok. lets go find them. (determined face)
Know that the lord has your back. know that he knows you individually. know that if you 1. TRUST in him 2. lean not unto you OWN understanding (dont think you know everything, haha we get into that habit as people) 3. always ACKNOWLEDGE HIM (be grateful! He has done so much for us! He gives us another day! enables us to feel joy! gives us the perfect hard times that help us thrive!) and the promise is.... he will "direct our paths!" he will guide us, lead us through the hard times, uplift us when we can't do it. if its hard, welcome to life. but it will also be GOOD, and i testify of this. he widens our capacity for joy. (proverbs 3:5-6) good people, let us not take our fears so seriously. it will all be okay.
