although they tell me that one sister who has been here 9 months has seen 107 moose. I don't know where i am going to serve yet, or with whom, when we asked the president he said: "Alaska!" It was a GORGEOUS flight in. i maybe fell in love a little bit with this place. I am cold.
Love you!

I am running sorta low on time dearest folks. First logistics. I will be heading out MONDAY MORNING! I need to report to th front office at 4:30 in the morning-eep. i bought a calling card and can call around 6-8 utah time i think. if you pick up i will be happy but i will leave you a message anyway :) I love you beautiful people!
Ok. Now for the good stuff.
- I met this really amazing couple (the wife looked just like Michelle Graves so of course i loved her) and they are really really awesome. And guess what!!! They head the Nonprofit program at BYU!!! how neat is that??? so i told them i would keep in touch with them. they are in Belise now. (i don;t know how to spell that country) because they are awesome like that.
- I love essential oils. They really helped me sleep when i was roughin it the frst few nights. Turns out i am kinda becomign a morning person-ew. Rachel, your descriptions have been amazing. i use them loads. Will you send me some descriptions for how to use the ones that weren't in the small case? thanks!
- Oh and i love Meditation. the first part of this week i was pretty anxious. but now i have started what i call Psalm mantras, where i memorize and recite my favorite psalms while having my legs pretzeled. right now my psalm of choice is 34. Read it. memorize it. meditate it. pondering on christ's atonement every night has brought me peace and joy.
- So i was made a Sister training leader with my comp. which doesn't actually mean anything here especially since we had no new sisters this week. But hey. I thought it was the kind of factoid that mothers and fathers like to know.
- I am getting over the food here. Because i have a PLAN. oatmeal and pineapple for breakfast. salad wrap for lunch, salad for dinner. haha. to give you an idea of what the ENTIRE rest of my district eat for breakfast alone? one elder had FOUR cokes for breakfast. Capn' crunch (one day he actually ate that WITH captn crunch just to drive me crazy) sausage, eggs, hash browns, mayo. etc. etc. oh and two donuts. and here i am vegetarian (while i still can) and off sugar. they love making fun of me. they love mocking. one elder has a rabbit farm and enjoyed telling me about the caged rabbits that they kill for meat. Woohoo.
- I really love our elders though. one of them and i quoted Fantastic Mr. Fox for literally an hour. usually we're pretty on track. but it was a good release.
- OOh. could you send me the Witness unto me talk? from MAY 2001 by elder holland? thanks thanks :)
- Hows cleaning my room going, mom? i hope you are remembering the christlike attribute of mercy with throwing my stuff away. but i still feel bad that you had to do it. i reallly would have finished it in a couple more daysl but i have the best mom.
People people people. Allow me to tell you a little bit of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. It is not some weird concept. It is actually very specific.
Faith. the motivation for our actions, the belief in God to use his grace. the pull that drags our spirits out from hiding. the calm for our troubles when we feel pressure from the world. Oh faith is a beautiful concept that i am just beginning to almost sort of maybe understand
Repentance. The turning. the revolving door of change. the ability we have to leave any distracting habits tearfully at the feet of the Savior. How neat is that. Repentance is when we open our hearts to the grace that god is already trying to give us. Once again- far too much to understand
Baptism- the rebirth of our spirits. When we become children of christ and start to take on his characteristics like we had really been reborn. when we allow ourselves to die to live.
The holy Ghost. this is the member of the godhead who LIVES in us! in our very beings! when we are righteous, we never have to ask the question: was that my thoughts or the holy ghost? because they are one and the same. you work together. love together. preach together. it cleanses, comforts. inspires.
enduring to the end. More like rejoicing to the end! How wonderful is this my friends, that enduring is loving forever. progressing forever, forever becoming closer to god and allowing evil to slip off our stained clothes so that we become white. I love this. what a joyful life.
The Atonement- christ's beautiful actions that make this possible. I could go on but i haven;t the time.
friends. let us rejoice. let us share. its real nice to be good examples. but dont stop there. be bold because you have great news. this is fun. this is exciting. it truly does change people because earlier this week i would not have written this email the same, i am changed, but only a little. more change to come. :)
I love you
be rad,
be cool. but not like.... alaska cool.
I love you.
