I ATE BEAR!!!!

13 October  2014

truth.  I ate bear and halibut for dinner last night.  For all of you non alaskans, moose meat is tastier ;).

well......somehow i got a reputation here for eating a ton.  i don't even eat that much!  but the elders are challenging me to the Denny's challenge today after i email. but even though i try to tell people i have a very small appetite and don't even really like eating anyway.... the whole zone seems to know i can eat my weight.  Which keeps going up.... so i'll let you know how it goes today haha. oh dear.  those punky elders.  i'll let you know how it goes ;)

Change is happening here.  haha its really so slow!  but i guess the Lord sees it better than we do. take the ward for instance.  When i got here they were not really interested in sharing the gospel too much.  they are all really good people, but have callings and lives and families and sometimes its hard to see how sharing the gospel works into all of that.  But on Saturday the bishop invited us to speak on member missionary work. When he introduced us at the pulpit he said how great it had been to get to know us over a longer period of time than normal.  we are slowly gaining the trust of the members. After our talks some of them came up to us and told us how they are sharing the gospel with others.  It was cool to see. i think that when this ward starts seeing the fruits of their labors, the work will blossum in this area. Please pray that it will be so.

What a wonderful thing it is to be a servant of the Lord.  I am so blessed to be having this crazy, beautiful, whacko experience. My father today shared some advice which i would love to pass on to you.

enjoy the moment!  how glorious it is that we have families, our savior's love, forgiveness, grace, mercy, and an abundance of fun, wonderful blessings all around!  I hope that as you seek to see the good in life, as you turn to optomism, our heavenly father will bear witness to you that life really is as grand as you think it is.

Have a great day :)

p.s. go take a friend to meet the mormons!  this is an incredible tool the lord has given us.  Don't be scared.  dont let mormons be the only ones meeting mormons. you will not regret it i promise. It has a 74% recommendation from NON members!  how neat is that!
