The lord sure does have a sense of humor

17 November 2014

Whatever you think I have been doing this week, you're wrong.  haha.  I have spent a lot of time drawing, painting, thinking about horses, playing homemade twister, and blowing my nose.

Why?

I have been kinda dealing this bummer cold for the past couple weeks.  It just has kept hanging around.  I have been attacking it back pretty well (with the miraculous help of sister dill) and tea, essential oils, netipots, and cayenne. One day i was FED.  UP. with all of this.  so i asked for a blessing and got a wonderful one from the first and second councelors in the bishopric.  It was a beautiful blessing of love and comfort, and said some additional things that i needed to hear.  It also told me that i had a fever, which i hadn't known but made perfect sense, and i did notice that although it said i would get better, it didn't give any hint as to WHEN.  the next morning i woke up feeling pretty.  nasty.  but was getting ready for the day anyway when i walked into where sister dill was and she declared:  "sister galli!!!!! you have PINK EYE!!!!"  I looked in the mirror and discovered... by golly she was right!  pink as ever with lots of fun goop besides.  That cancelled our going out plans pretty dang quickly and I have pretty much been inside most of this week.  We have the SWEETEST ward who has made me special herbal tonics, brought over hot dinners, brought tissues, and just about anything else that we could ever ask for.  But that Heavenly father sure does have a sense of humor.  even though we've been inside mostly, and have gone a little crazy, we have had some dang fun times.  you get pretty creative in a little cottage.

I have learned a lot from the Lord as he's been teaching me this week.  First of all, i have a LOOOONG way to go to conquer the natural woman.  but what a worthy and wonderful pursuit.  also, the lord takes care of his servants and all his children.  it may not be from protecting from sickness and harm but he ALWAYS provides assistance in times of trouble.  Also he is really good at teaching things like patience.  haha.  and of course, as previously stated, he has a pretty good sense of humor.

we all have weeks like this.  I am so sorry if you are in one now.  But I know that with the Lord's strength its MUCH easier than without.  Let us look for the good things and happy things when we are stressed or feel like being frustrated at god.  Theres always blessings,  this week, it was in the form of one lesson we were able to slip outside for and our wonderful sweet investigator picked a date to be baptized!   January 1st, so she could start the year freshly.  I love her enthusiasm.  Another blessing came in the form of a very awesome sweet recent convert that went to the temple for the first time!  (endowment) and many other blessings filled in the cracks.

My friends, thank heavens for the fall of adam and eve which brought sickness and sadness to the world, because it teaches us Joy.  Let us be joyful amidst opposition.

I love you all!
