drumroll please..........

apparently we have been doing well because we are all staying the same!  actually its more like people in fairbanks have just had crazy amounts of faith when they pray because there have been at least 5 different people who have told us they were praying for us both to stay together in fairbanks. I am killing off my trainer too, (for you non missionaries that means this is her last transfer of her mission)  so yeah.  pretty intense.  pretty much our entire zone has stayed the same for three transfers, including the elders that we share the ward with.  makes for an interesting dynamic.

some adventures:

BUGS:  the insect adventures continue.  the CRAZY mosquitos have finally calmed down, but i started to get red crazy itchy welts everywhere!  whats up with that?  so then... we started finding these little weird flat bugs everywhere in our apartment...  we have bedbugs!  my ankles are COVERED.  so are my hands.  apparently those are particularly delicious to bedbug tastebuds.  so thats fun.
WHY DO BAD THINGS HAPPEN TO GOOD PEOPLE:   man. that has been our question of the week!!!! we  have been asked it twice that i can remember.  so i have been thinkin a lot about it.  we got asked it right after a plan of salvation, and heavenly father blessed me with the scripture:  moses 5:10-12.  the second time it was asked we felt to just listen.  Pretty interesting.  Man this week is gonna be tentative and scary and wonderful because we have about 7 people that said they will learn more (and have been serious about it)  and so we will see if we have new investigators this week!  gahhhh so exciting.

there is an odd conundrum about how our work has been going: work here is sloooowwwwwwwwwwwwww going.   sometimes.  at least the people we have been working with.  but we are working with a bijillion people right here so its super fast at the same time. But its funny.  like everyone we are working with has crazy pride and is really offended and wont let anyone else but sister faupula and i talk to them.  oftentimes we go in and have to just listen, hardly share anything. we were actually stopped spiritually the other day from sharing a lesson. kinda bummer but we were grateful because it was very apparent that they weren't ready for it... yet... mwahahaha.
we dug under this lady's homemade house and got clay from it, then built a wall with that clay as part of her basement.   these people really do rough it.
i kinda miss those bold invitations that you can make with some people, occasionally the spirit guides us to push hard, but more often than not we feel inspired just to listen while they talk out their feelings and come closer to the lord step by step.  These are some hard cases.  people who haven't been to church in 30 years, people who hate religion being "shoved down their throat"  (in their words) ... but its starting to pick up.  we have been blessed by god to finally see some fruits of ours and other missionaries and members labors, like the nonmember father who came to church and the other nonmember father who is having the restoration taught to him tonight when he normally would leave at the first sign of spirituality.   its been such a blessing from god.  This truly is his work.  all we can do is put one step in front of the other.  its been wonderful :)

I love you folks.  please. this week know that god is looking out for you, too.  he is nurturing you as much as you will let him.  read your scriptures and be filled.
"these things i have spoken unto you, that in me (christ) ye might have peace.  In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; i have overcome the world."  John 16:33
