especially with 4 inches of snow on the ground. wasn't it WONDERFUL ladies and gents??? that we have REAL PEOPLE who had GOD TELL THEM WHAT TO SAY to the ENTIRE WORLD?????? yeah. living in crazy times, yo.
so i finally figured out how to describe alaskans. SURGEONS GENERAL WARNING: The following may contain stereotypes about homeschooled kids that do not apply to all homeschooled kids. i think homeschooling is totally inspired and incredible for many people.... THAT SAID: EVERYONE in alaska is homeschooled. they aren't really, buts it feels like they are when talking to them. they will do things like look three inches above your head while talking to you or tell you really in depth detail about the cist on their side or make random offhand comments about things that are not even remotely a part of the conversation or stop halfway through a sentence. Its great fun. i really am not saying that sarcastically haha. oh and style? forGET it. everyone dresses like they are out of walmart.... because... they are. haha :) there is only a walmart and a fred myers up here to get clothes at. tis great fun. so thats your alaska tidbit for the day.
- some fun things that happened this week:
- we moved again
- no more bed bugs
- it snowed and snowed and snowed
- its beginning to look a lot like christmas
- a member took us to get prime rib!!!
- we burned a granola bar in the microwave and smoked the basement
- made an agreement with an investigator that if he read the book of mormon in three weeks i would read the new testament and sister faupula would TRY to read the old testament.... she clearly got the roughest end of this agreement
- crashed a girls night out with teenageers (nothing is more fun than sister missionaries!!! )
- CONFERENCE
- got told 150 times what to wear in the snow
yeah! its great.
People. lets take the advice of elder Holland and pray about them poor folk. in all seriousness that really hit me. Did it hit you?
